Genetic variability and association between oil and economic traits for some new Egyptian cotton genotypes

Abstract Background Cotton breeding programs mainly focus on improving cotton fibers, but less attention has been paid by breeders to cottonseed oil improvement. Breeding for content depended phenotypic information used select varieties with high seed content. The purpose of this study was evaluate some genotypes regarding their and other characters related fiber yield, in order acceptable levels the characters. Seventeen different were study. A two-year experiment carried out at Sids Agricultural Research Station, Beni Suef, Egypt, during 2017 2018, using a randomized complete block design six replications.
